Some days the weather is perfect for freediving, and on those days I can fully enjoy what I love about freediving. It’s a very special feeling to discover a new place and be overwhelmed by how marine life thrives there. The unknown is exciting. And when the sea is calm, you can let your mind wander both above and below the surface.
Finding new dive sites is a pretty fun activity in itself, but when you find a cove where you can be alone and the weather is fantastic, like it was this time, I’m very grateful. Because it’s rare to have all the right conditions at once.
I use a 3.5mm neoprene wetsuit, and depending on how much buoyancy I want, I use 2.5–3.5kg of lead on my belt.
